The Race | Disciplines

The race will combine the standard forms of Adventure Race transport, Feet, Kayaking, and Mountain Biking. Of course, we will throw in some more fun sections, so expect a few ropes, maybe a bit of a splash and some great navigation challenges.

Fell Running and Orienteering:

Fell Running and OrienteeringRunning over varying terrain often steep, navigating yourselves from check point to check point – Or Running over varying terrain searching for a maximum number of check points within a time limit - Progression on foot through mountains. Two competitors in each team must be capable of orienteering in natural surroundings.

Kayaking:

KayakingTo cover the distance across the spectacular lakes, you will be using double kayaks, these are available to hire or you are welcome to bring you own. You will however have to ensure one team member in each boat has a British Canoe Union Qualification (or international equivalent) more details on the kayaking page here

Mountain-Biking:

Mountain-BikingThe Lake District is renowned for some of the best mountain biking in the world. You will traverse Cumbria over varying terrain, including open hills, roads and swooping singletrack.

Rope activities:

Rope activitiesTouch up on your rope work skills, as you could find yourself abseiling off a huge cliff or scrambling up a lakeland classic.
