Our first expedition race, we are one of the Three Irish Teams participating in this event and we are very much looking forward to it. We met on the hills and come from varying sports backgrounds.
Sean the most experienced of us has been Adventure racing since 2006 and is one of the main organisers of the 1 day adventure race, total experience adventure race. Three of us (Karen,Finbar, Richard) are pretty new to the adventure racing, only racing since 2009 but fast learners. We have a good mix of hill running, mountain marathons, Ultra marathons and other 24hr-36hr adventure races such as Cooley Raid between us.
We have been training together for almost 6 months with help and advice from Team Irish AR along the way. Our first race together was the 36hr Adventure Race, Beast of Ballyhoura where we finished in 3rd place.
Our Goal at addidas TERREX is to complete the long course and have as much fun as possible along the way. We will be arriving to race and learn as we go !!!!
