I am team captain Jake Morgan – by virtue of the fact I am a teacher on summer hols at the moment and have lots of time to plan and sort stuff. I think it also means that I can order my team mates to tow me whenever I start to feel a bit tired.

I have done more open 5s than I can remember and currently stand 4th in the lifetime points scores. Best results to date include 2nd mixed pair in a polaris and 3rd places in Open 5s and Endurance series. I have been waiting for this event for ages and can’t wait to get started.

Anthony Cooper started riding enduro's in 2003 and doing regular polaris and trailquest. Done lots LAMM, Saunders, OMM, Mourne.
Started Open Adventure's in 2005 with me and stands 3rd in the lifetime points table.
Happiest riding around on touring bike. Rode from Lhasa to Kathmandu via Everest Basecamp earlier this year over a few 5000m+ passes. Wishes effects of riding at altitude lasted a bit longer.  I’ve only ever seen him tired once but he’s done some training since.

Emily is an all-rounder, comfortable on rock, snow, water and wheels. Emily’s first event was the two day Polaris Challenge in 2005, which she undertook as a mountain bike beginner on a rusty old bike. She loved it and since that first taster she has become a regular attender at mountain bike events.  In 2008 she completed the Trans Alp endurance race, which at 600km is her toughest race to date.

She especially enjoys Trailquests and MTB Orienterering - as her podium results demonstrate, her talent and determination shine through.  Emily has now gained a taste for adventure racing through the Open 5 series, winning the solo category.  This year she podiumed in the Open Endurance series with Jake Morgan, racing for planetFear in the mixed category.

Emily has not stopped talking about the adidas TERREX race since being invited to race with planetFear.  She brings her considerable racing experience and a talent for planning and logistics gained from expedition mountaineering.

Matt Martindale is the dark horse of the team. He’s not done many adventure races before and is one of those quiet people who always says he’s not been up to much. Every now and then you find out he has done something like coming 4th in the European single speed Championships or has done a 6h27 Fred Whitton with an injured Achilles and a mechanical part way around. We know that he can suffer long distance as well, as his solo sleepless 24 hr feats show. He says he can’t navigate but he’s going to carry my butties and open the gates for us.
