To cook up Team Ferrata, simply take four friends in a bothy bag and pour in beer (generously). Sprinkle in the hint of an epic challenge and add peanuts to taste. Carefully strain out common sense, blend in wishful thinking and leave to set with an idea which seemed a good one at the time.
Nearing D-day, the team is slightly apprehensive but extremely excited. Oh, and still seeking a kayak. Anyone seen a spare? No really!
Ed Clifford
Since obtaining a distinction in his Cubs 'camping and outdoors' badge, Ed has never looked back. With an unparalleled enjoyment of any kind of a challenge (especially ones that involve carbo loading and lycra), Ed is a something of a motivational tidal wave on which Team Ferrata hope to surf to shore.
James Lurati
Possibly separated at birth from the legendary Ray Mears, James is only truly at home in the great outdoors with a problem to solve. Unimpressed by road running and hopeless at swimming James turned to the mountains and trails for inspiration and hasn't looked back since. Steep hills and even steeper learning curves have been the order of the past few years and with an opportunity like the adidas TERREX, why stop now! If optimism and keenness could win races his results sheet would undoubtedly be much healthier, but as good all rounder and strong team player James can't wait for the race of his life.
Ed Clough
Fuelled solely by sugar, ex-army Ed is perhaps best described as a navigation machine. Forget your tom tom, Ed can guide us from A to B with only minor detours (at C, D, and quite possibly the local chippy). He is most frequently found to be "tapering" and is preparing for the big day with a sailing trip and some real good work on that tan. Now where are those tv cameras?
Sophie Moore
A nutritional mastermind with a policy to "taste test" pretty much everything (twice), Soph brings speed, agility and most importantly, the lack of a Y chromosome. (Well it was either that, or stick one of the lads in a wig.) A keen triathlete, who is not so much of a fan of the swimming or running parts, she is often spotted pedalling her way to the loftiest summits, leaving the guys in her wake.
The team would like to thank its wholly unofficial sponsor Haribo, for providing light at the end of many dark tunnels.
