FGS! ChocMalt are one of two teams fielded by the ForGoodnessShakes! AR squad. The FGS! ChocMalt line-up is Andy Wilson, Fi Spotswood, Steve Fisher and Dave Barnaville. ForGoodnessShakes! have supported the AR team since 2007. The FGS! AR squad now has 8 regular members who race around the UK and occasionally abroad. FGS! was selected to represent UK Sleepmonsters at the 2008 Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge.

For Goodness Shakes! are recovery drinks for athletes; pre-mixed milkshakes and now powders in 4 flavours: ChocMalt, SuperBerry, BigBanana and Organic VanillaBean. They’re also great race fuel for transitions in these longer races. We’ll also be lighting up the night on bike and foot with MaXx-D and Joystick torches courtesy of Exposure Lights

Andy Wilson is team captain and second navigator. Andy has raced both in the UK and across the world over the last 6 years. Most recently Andy was a member of the Helly Hansen–Prunesco team which won the Patagonia Expedition Race both in 2009 and 2010. Andy has also raced in Alaska, Abu Dhabi and Poland.

Fi Spotswood is a mountain biker at heart and there’ll be few in the race who can keep up with her going downhill – not least her teammates. After considerable success at 24hr solo events, she got bored with going round in circles and turned to AR, where she’s been an instant hit, winning the Open Endurance series this year with Steve, as well as regularly winning the Trailplus Adventure Challenge events.

Steve Fisher is the lead navigator for the team. Steve used to lead expeditions to Spitzbergen and Greenland before trying his hand at AR. Over the years he has had a lot of success with solo ACE race series wins in 2004 and 2006, as well as 2nd place in the first Wilderness ARC with North Face in 2006. Returning to AR after spending more time adventuring rather than racing, he’s picked up where he left off – winning the 2010 Open Adventure Endurance series with Fi.

Dave Barnaville is mainly a mountain biker, and a regular in the FGS! Trailplus Adventure Challenge team. He also joined Fi in the FGS! Team which were 3rd in mixed category in this year’s High Peak Marathon. Barney has also raced several of the Open 24 races but this will be his first multi-day race.

We’d also like to thank Gore Bike Wear, Squirt Lubes and Spoke Shirts for supporting the team.
