The Return of the C2C | 26-29 August 2011

C2C - Event Detail

In the coming months we will update the event details, but for the moment this will give you a better idea of the event.

TimeTiming it is intended that the event will start around 10:00am on Friday 26th August; with registration and a short event briefing, you should plan to be in Whitehaven around 08:00 for registration with a probable start time around 10:00am, depending on the tides..

The Monday will also be a short day with the majority of competitors finishing around mid afternoon. We do sincerely hope the faster competitors will enjoy a beer with us to cheer in those that take a more sedentary approach to the event.

The route.. well if you are going to travel across the country might as well do it in style! Read on to find out more.

First of all we will provide maps for you at registration - these will be A3 paper maps with A3 bags. Solos will get two sets and teams will get three sets. In that way your support team can also have an idea on what is going on and where to find you.

A copy of the route book will also be provided. A draft PDF version is available here. You can also download an Anquet Maps waypoint file of the route here you will need Anquet Maps to be able to open this file www.anquet.co.uk

Entry closing date

Entries for this classic event closed on the 1st August.

Event Support

This event is a self supported event where teams either find a friend or provide their own support. For example, if you are a team of three, whilst two are racing, the other member of the team who isn't racing on any given stage can as 'support' on a rolling basis. Or you can find a driver to provide additional assistance. If you are doing the event solo, unless you plan to double back from each transition (not recommended) then you'll need a buddy to move your gear along.

C2C Map

Right to the business. First of all - not everything is finalised, permissions for much of the event have still to be rubber stamped. Likewise for some areas we have permission for access for this event only. Please if you are going to recce the route take this in to account - it only needs one person and an altercation with a farmer to put this in to jeopardy.
